Available Dogs

Don't let that beautiful, innocent face fool you. Lexie would do anything for chicken! We're not talking about KFC or Perdue, but her family's livestock. The family wants to expand their flock and herd, but Lexie's high prey drive is prohibiting that. Her confinement is stressful on both her and her owners. Here's the good news. She's a spayed 4 year old family dog that adores her kids. When we have snow, she loves pulling them on their sleds. She is a happy and affectionate girl, but draws the line at being a lap dog. Her family takes her hiking on the trails near home, but she's now leashed (something we reccommend, anyway). The neighbors' cows are just sooo much fun to chase! Her shots are up to date, but she's due for this years' preventative meds. She is housebroken and has free reign of the house, but is not left alone with the cats. Other dogs come to visit now that she's confined to a run and she's a local social butterfly. If Lexie could suppress her high prey drive, she would not be on Patriot's available dog list. Experienced husky people know the many traits of the breed, and predator is near the top! She will make a great family dog. Her ideal new home should have no cats or small animals and, preferably, a fenced yard. If you have no husky experience, do your homework and learn about these magnificent dogs before you apply.
