Diego came home October 22 and he has adjusted very well. He seems to love it here. He shadows me like a mommy but he's warming to the rest of the family as well, and he didn't mind the relatives at Thanksgiving. His line broke on the very first day back to work that Monday and he had to be bailed out of the town for $50. We discovered though that Diego does not like to be outside alone anyway. He seems to prefer his "den" under the dining room table (see picture). I am happy to report that the vet believes Diego to be perfectly healthy after recovering from Lyme disease and Heartworm. He looks beautiful, with a nice shiny coat and a sturdy weight. Now that Diego has the clean bill of health we've been resuming our athletic activities. Diego loves to run around the high school track with "mommy" and go walking on the rail trail with his family. We've gotten a lot of snow here in central Mass. this winter and he's been ecstatic. When Spring comes we'll be going on day trips to Rutland State Park and Wachusett. When Diego is not on outdoor adventures he loves lounging in his new jumbo LL Bean bolstered bed (which is most of the day.) He's all set up in his "den" under the dining room table and the rest of us have nowhere to put our feet! We are thoroughly enjoying our new member of the family and thank the PSHR for bringing him to us. You are truly doing great work.
