Aurora found a wonderful new home through PSHR at the age of 8. Her new owners wrote "When we looked the word 'Aurora' up in the dictionary, we learned that it meant 'Goddess of the Dawn'. Our beautiful, new dog is appropriately named since she has brought light and a new beginning into our home. After losing two of our dogs to cancer and kidney disease during the summer of 2002, we took some time to recuperate before looking for another companion for our remaining dog Shelby. Having always had a husky in my life, my first inclination was to find another husky to fill the void vacated by my 17 year old siberian that I lost last year. But things were different this time...we had to find a dog who was suited to cohabitate with our golden/shephard mix, Shelby. Aurora is that perfect mate. At the age of 8 she is a wonderful blend of both playfulness and maturity. As we watch Shelby and Aurora spend hours playing and laying around together we can't believe that they have only known each other a short period of time. Aurora has inspired Shelby to be active again and to enjoy canine companionship. Adopting an adult dog has been a positive experience...one that we would recommend to anyone. It has been rewarding to watch Shelby interact, speak, play and sleep with her new 'sister'. Our house contains a new energy and excitement because of this special dog. We are grateful for the opportunity to have Aurora in our lives." Aurora just celebrated her 9th birthday!
