Happy Tails

We'd like to share with you some stories of adopted dogs who've found happy homes through Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue...

Kaya

Kaya is a 4 yr old affectionate female Siberian Husky from the Southeastern MA area. Unfortunately her family was moving to a new home that did not allow dogs. Her family was heartbroken, but they decided to reach out to Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue to help them find Kaya her new fur-ever Husky home. Along came just the right fit adoptive family; who were only a couple of towns away. They arranged to meet with Kaya on several occasions to spend quality time and walk her. She even had a sleepover weekend with her new prospective family. The transition of adoption went very smoothly recently and Kaya has shown great affection for her new family. She is quite the chatty vocal Husky we are told. Loves to sing and "Woo-Woo!"

Zoey

Zoey is a 3 yr old sweetheart female Siberian Husky that had moved with her military family from Texas to Massachusetts awhile ago. Unfortunately her family was being relocated again and they had not been able to find a new home where they could keep a dog. They were heartbroken about having to surrender her; but decided to search out a Breed Specific Rescue that could help them re-home Zoey to a husky savvy home where she could be happy. They contacted us at Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue and luckily before they had to move, we did find Zoey the perfect new fur-ever home. Zoey now has a Husky brother to hang out with everyday and play in their large fenced backyard. From the moment she met her new owners and furry brother, she knew it was meant to be!

Nova

Sweet Nova is only 1 yr old and she started out in a bad situation tied up outside a tenement; day & night. Luckily an angel of a human took possession of her and contacted us to help her find Nova a new Fur-ever home. Along came just the right fit human family that fell in love with Nova instantly and adopted her right away. Now Nova has her own new family and currently lives up in beautiful New Hampshire and gets all the daily attention she so deserves!

LaLa

LaLa is 9 years old and lived in Southern VT. Unfortunately her family that she loved so much, could no longer give her the exercise and attention that she needed due to hectic work schedules and family responsibilities. Luckily for her along came a great adopter who lives up in Northern VT. She now has a great new family and an Irish setter brother who she can always play with. They go on hikes and run in huge fields. She is ready to conquer those beautiful Green Mountains, lakes and streams!

Blue

Hi my name is Balu (formerly Blue). I made the move from CT to my furever home in the White Mountains of NH a week ago - my new life is great!! I begin my mornings with a long walk with my new Mom and then I spend the day with my new Dad. I love my two feline brothers and my Schnoodle brother. This pic is with one of my feline brothers! This past week I met lots of new human and canine friends, hiked on the ski slopes and played in the snow, worked with Dad splitting firewood and stealing sticks, tried bikejorring, played A LOT of ball (I am an excellent retriever), explored the river, tried venison, adjusted to my new home and slept a lot. I've learned how to lay down and am perfecting walking on a leash. Phew!! I can't wait to go logging with Dad! Dad and Mom describe me as suprisingly mellow at times, playful, precocious, persistant, and a little sneaky. I'm also a lover boy who enjoyes being hugged and snuggled. Dad and Mom haven't had a husky in the house for a year, so they are up for the challenge. Dad adopted Kodiak from Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue about 15 years ago - he passed from old age last year and has big paws to fill. Kodiak was Bob's best friend and went everywhere with him (including multiple road trips across the country). Kodi went to work with Bob in the woods every day and enjoyed many miles of skijorring in the winter. He was a great companion and match for Bob and Kate enjoyed spoiling him rotten and breaking the rules in his older years (surprise...he was quite wild as a young husky). We are all very happy with our new pack and want to thank Patriot and Siberian Husky Club and Rescue of Southern New England for making another great match! We look forward to many exciting years together!

Emmett

Hi! I wanted to check in and show you how happy I am to be in my new home. I have a great new home with a family that is able to spend a lot of time with me. I was at a shelter for about 3 months before I found my new forever home and they too, were very nice to me and I had daily walks with one of the staff who sure did like me! Thankfully, Patriot cross-posted me on their site and it helped me find my new home a little faster! And I bet I'm one of very few Sibes that will let my owner vacuum me to rid me of some of my shedding fur! I love it! I love a good brushing too though! Here in my picture, I'm very relaxed and while you can't see my beautiful eyes, they are blue!

Jax

Woo-Woo-Woof!! Hey, My name is Jax and Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue just found me my new fur-ever home with some great humans! I am so happy it all worked out so well. Now I can settle in and get comfy. Here is an updated picture of me, 6 months later, enjoying my beautiful new back yard! I've settled in quite well and am loving my new home!

Iris

I was living with a very nice family that just did not have the time for me. They did the right thing and Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue found me a terrific home with a family that loves outdoor activities like jogging and hiking. They are very loving family and I am so happy here. Who knows, maybe I'll loose a few pounds from all the jogging. HAHA.

Kote

Hi. We are Kote and Lilo and have lived together our entire life. Wow, 6 years together and trying find us a good home that we can stay together is not easy. Our original owner loved us with all his heart and it was very difficult to let go but he did what was best for us. a home with more time and attention. We were so fortunate that Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue had a perfect home for us. Our new owner bought a new home, fenced off the yard for us and from day one, we had other neighbor dogs to play with. So Grammy comes by and checks on us when Dad is at work and we are rarely left alone for long periods of time. We like it here and plan to stay a long time.

Lightning aka Duncan

Wow. Did I luck out. I don't think my new owner would put up with a puppy but I couldn't be happier. I love my home and they are such special people. All it takes a puppy face, they can't resist and I am spoiled. Oh,, and my new name is Duncan. Could they be San Antonio Spurs fans?

Sami

PSHR is happy to announce that Sami has found her new forever home!!!! Sami had lost her siberian husky brother and wasn't happy. Her owners knew she needed another friend but couldn't take on another dog at this time in their lives. It wasn't easy for her owners to do what they knew in their hearts was the right thing for Sami, but they did it because they love her. Champ had lost his long time siberian husky companion and was lonely and needed a new friend. His owners knew he needed a new friend and were able to open their home and their hearts to another siberian husky. So now Sami is living with Champ and they are both starting new chapters in their lives. It's because of people like Champ's owners who made it possible for Sami's owners to make a hard decision and place their girl in her new loving home. Both happy dogs now have the new friend they both needed.

Marlee Brooke

Marlee graced our family at the end of March 2015. She joined Stoli our 11 1/2 year old beautiful black & white Husky girl. Stoli was also a rescue from Patriot Siberian Rescue back in October 2004. She was 1 1/2 at the time. We have had several female huskies before. Azure, a black & white lived to 17. Blaze, a gray, white, tan lived to 13. Nikki, a black & white, died tragically at 3. Kadyn, a red & white, just passed away in October at the age of 10. Stoli and Kadyn were very close. When Marlee came Stoli started to perk up. We have a big yard and both girls enjoy walking the perimeter. They chase each other around the tree, stop, rest then change direction. Stoli has always been a big Husky "talker". Marlee was very quiet. It took about a month and Marlee "talked" too. Both were extremely vocal at dinner time! Marlee feels very comfortable "telling" me what she needs. The next door neighbor got a puppy. My girls run to the fence and sit and wait for her to come out. Marlee has been a joy but later in the year, she lost her new sister Stoli to old age.

Phoenix

Hi. My name is Phoenix. I was a heartbroken boy who lost both my human parents and was staying with my Grandma. Though she loved me, I needed to be with a family that understood my breed and had the time to give me my much needed daily walks. And boy, did I luck out! This wonderful family came to meet me and immediately fell right in love with me! Well can you blame them I am quite handsome! I have an 11 year old human sister now who gives the best belly rubs and cuddles! I am so happy that I get to go on 4-5 mile hikes each day now! My new Mommy tells me it will keep me out of "trouble", something about a "tired husky is a happy husky"! I'm learning lots of new manners and tricks and have discovered I love this new place called "the beach"! I am extremely happy and am looking forward to many new adventures with my forever family!

Kira

Hi - we're Kiba & Kira and we have settled in quite well and our new family loves having us with them in their home. Our new owners have described us as being:" very funny, a little naughty and very loving." We have brought many smiles and much laughter to them in the last few weeks - more than they ever expected!! Our new family says that ski-joring will need to wait for another year or so, though, as it sounds like we are just needing a bit more training on our leads. We don't want to be the cause of any mishaps to them!! We will just look forward to that, meanwhile, while enjoying our daily walks! We continue to entertain our new family who is enjoying each minute they spend with us! We're so glad for our new family!!

Lucky

My name is Lucky. And boy AM I A LUCKY BOY. When I was in need and needed a new home, not only did I find one, I hit the Jackpot. I have a gorgeous house and huge yard to run in with a very loving family.

Angel

Hi there! I'm Angel and while it took me 6 months to wait to find a new home, I finally found one!! I feel like I'm in Husky Heaven, as not only did I get a new home with one acre of fenced property, but I was also so lucky to get 5 sister and brother huskies to play with everyday! I am in the middle in my picture, with 2 of my new siblings! I feel right now like one of the luckiest Sibes there could ever be!! I'm so thankful to my new owner!!

Nicky

I'm Nicky, 10 years old. I'm so grateful to Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue for helping me to find a new forever home. You see, my owner passed away suddenly. My 'Auntie' graciously took me in so I would not have to go to a shelter while she tried to find me a new home. Luckily I did find new owners, who fell in love with me right away. Now I get my daily walks again and will be training with a dogsled soon!

Hugo

Hi - I'm Hugo! And a few weeks ago, I had to go to this place called a shelter with other dogs of all kinds, as my human family could no longer keep me. I was afraid that my brother, Klondike & I may be separated, if we were lucky enough to find new homes. Then we went to another human's home, for a while till we could find a 'furever' home. Along came this great new couple, who adopted not just me, but Klondike too! We are now getting to live out the rest of our lives with this great new family!! We are so grateful to the shelter and to Patriot for matching us up with this great family! Love, Hugo!!

Niko

We adopted Niko last summer(Aug 2014), we had moved a few months earlier and our nine year old husky Zayda was having a very difficult time with the move. We tried everything, nothing helped, so we decided to rescue another dog. At first Zayda was a little upset but shortly after she started acting like her self again. It was almost like she could finally relax because Niko was there to protect her. Niko has been such a great addition to our family. He loves to play with his sister and cousins ( two beagles, a chihuahua and a Shepherd). He loves to go for car rides, walk in the woods , and even just hang out in the back yard. Oh and of course he LOVES the snow!!! We are so happy we rescued him, he is a great dog. He makes us laugh!!

Storm & Sky

After looking for a new home for almost a year, Storm and Sky have finally found it! They often venture to the top of Cadillac Mountain with their new owner.

Glacier & Suka

Remember Glacier and Suka, the 4-year-old brother/sister pair that had to be re-homed together? Well, they just found their furever home and they look pretty happy!
